How do commissions work and what exactly is a rebate?

In a traditional home sale, the SELLER offers a commission to both the listing agent and the buyer’s agent. Generally, this is 2.8% of the purchase price. EZ Agents simply rebates you the purchaser 50% of the commission they would receive as a cash rebate towards on your closing statement.

It costs you NOTHING to work with EZ Agents. As a buyer you are not paying us commission, so you are in fact benefitting for the work you are doing of finding your own home. This model does not affect the seller or listing agent in any way. We are simply giving you a portion of the commission we would receive.

How can we do this?
Why would we?

In our experience there are lots of buyers who do not want or need a real estate agent to simply unlock doors and show them homes. Conversely, we as agents spend a significant amount of time meeting with potential buyers and showing homes that do not end up purchasing a home.

By eliminating this aspect of our jobs, we can focus on providing a better experience where buyers need it most – contract to close. In turn, we provide 50% of our commission to you.

Things you should know...

  • Your lender MUST approve your commission rebate (if your current lender cannot, we can recommend one to you). If your lender can not approve the rebate then we cannot provide it.
  • We can provide a showing assistant to you if needed at a fixed rate per home.
  • There is a commission minimum of $5,000 to EZ Agents. If 50% of the commission is less than this, we will rebate you the remainder of the commission minus $5,000.

You find the home.
We close the deal.

And we split the commission 50/50* with you!
